America On Wheels Museum             Happenings at America On Wheels                   September 6, 2013              In This Issue 1st Annual Cruise & CARnival "Whole Lot of Hoopla at AOW"      SAVE THE DATE... October 5 & 6!  Fire Safety Prevention Weekend.  Highlighting vintage trucks from the Fire Historical Society and The Burn Prevention Fire House.  OUTSIDE EVENT FREE October 27 - 1 pm to 3 pm  Gather up your miniature GHOSTS and GOBLINS and head over to AOW for Halloween TRUNK and TREATING and travel through the museum and visit vehicles with opened TRUNKS for a treat.  Halloween themed videos will be playing in the museum's theatre. November 3 - Dorney Park & Mahoning Speedways Reunion!  11 am - 4 pm November 16 - 6 pm to 10 pm  AOW 6th Moonlight Memories 'Sherlock Holmes Mystery' Gala.  Proceeds to benefit Museum's efforts to offer schools with free educational workshops and exhibit tours year round.  November 29 to December 29, 2013 2013 Holiday Train Display                                                    September signals a lot of similar thoughts to many people.  Back to School, End of Summer, the beginning of football...but for America On Wheels September means the following: 1st Annual Cruise & CARnival Cruise from Lehigh Valley Health Network - Muhlenberg Campus to America On Wheels Museum on Saturday, September 14 at 9:30 am.  ALL VEHICLES, CARS, TRUCKS & MOTORCYCLES -- ANY YEAR OR MAKE are invited to participate.  A dash plaque and goodie bag will be given to the first 150 drivers.   Carnival family day with games, food, music, award presentations, inflatables and much more.  OUTSIDE EVENT FREE.   Museum admission discounted to $5.00 adults & seniors - $4.00 students (13-16) children FREE to age 12.  Inside Museum explore, museum scavenger hunt, Ice Cream Sundae Bar (nominal fee) and The Comedy of Joseph Keppel.  REGISTER EARLY BY CALLING Liz Hahn, 610-432-4200 x10    FEE $10.00 per car, truck or motorcycle. Car Cruise - 12:30 pm Staring at Allentown Fairgrounds - Finishing at America On Wheels Car Jamboree and Festival 1:00 pm to 6 pm. HOOPLA WEEKEND is being planned by the Chamber, the Hamilton District Main Street Program and is organized by local business people and residents.  You are invited to participate in this City Wide event.  There is NO charge for the cars, motorcycles or Car/Motorcycle Clubs to participate.  The weekend is based on the Wildlife Exhibit at the Art Museum and in conjunction with this we will be holding an animal food drive (i.e., canned & dry food, bedding, animal toys, etc.).   SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM DAY ... Free admission to participating museums (including AOW) with coupon.
