AMERICA ON WHEELS - A MUSEUM OF OVER THE ROAD TRANSPORTATION EVENTS

In the News- 100 Years of Chevrolet Exhibit Opening in June

2011 marks the 100th Anniversary of Chevrolet and what a better way to celebrate than filling the Changing Exhibit Gallery with Chevrolet 'firsts' from each decade. The exhibit will feature 16 'firsts' including a 1912 Little roadster which was the first model produced by the new Chevrolet Motor Company. A total of 3,249 Littles were produced in 1912 and 1913. Other cars arriving will include a 1929 Chevrolet Series AC International roadster (the first 'stovebolt six' engine), a 1963 Corvette Sting Ray split window coupe with fuel injection (the first C2 Corvette and first Corvette coupe), a 1955 Nomad wagon (the first Nomad model and first small block V-8 engine) and a 1967 Camaro (the first Camaro model). Chevrolet 'firsts' will be moving in and out of the museum's Changing Exhibit Gallery from June 11, 2011 till March 2012 so visitors will be able to keep coming back to see something different.

Mark your calendars! On June 18, the owners of the Chevrolet's will be here for a 'Meet and Greet' from 1pm to 4pm. There will also be other Chevrolet activities scheduled this day such as a presentation by Chevrolet Zone Manager, Dan Ahearn from 1:30pm to 2:20pm. A Chevrolet 'Ride and Drive' is also scheduled where visitors will be able to 'ride' or 'drive' a Chevrolet from 2:30pm to 4pm.
