STANDING FOR SOMETHING....

The next Muhammad Ali? This is rare these days in 2013. Athletes don't have

the courage or the concern to stand for the people. Much respect for this man.

Heroic Statements

"Cleveland-born boxer and 2012 USA Olympian Terrell Gausha says that

because of George Zimmerman’s not guilty verdict, he will no longer represent

the United State’s flag, according to TMZ.

In an interview with TMZ, Terrell quotes the popular statement that has been

lately surfacing the internet: “How can I wear my stars and stripes proudly in a

country where they make a big deal out of Mike Vick fighting dogs; but not a

young innocent Black male’s life.”

Twenty-five-year-old Gausha added that the Zimmerman verdict has forever

changed the way he sees this country. “When I represented my country in the

Olympics, I was proud to wear my flag. I even wore it on my head on the way

to the ring. What happened this weekend was a slap in the face.” Gausha is not

eligible for the 2016 Olympic team because of his pro sport status, but he made

it very clear that he wasn’t interested in representing a “nation with so much

racism and hatred.”
