PLEASE come out to Allentown Residents for Clean Air (ARCA) "headquarters" meeting this Thursday evening.

Greetings Clean Air Advocates:

PLEASE come out to Allentown Residents for Clean Air (ARCA) "headquarters" meeting this Thursday evening.

On Monday, we received a disappointing court decision stopping our citizen's initiative to get a clean air ordinance on the November ballot even after our team collected the required signatures to put the clean air ordinance to the people for vote.

We need to regroup and focus on registering voters, raising funds for legal fees, getting people out to vote for those candidates who support clean air in our community, and figuring out our next steps to grow our movement and respond to these latest legal developments.

For those new to the issue, the experimental Delta-Thermo incinerator has been planned for an Allentown neighborhood on the Lehigh River in an area where many of our school children are already suffering from respiratory issues. Clean air for miles surrounding Allentown is at risk.

The Lehigh County Board of Elections
refused to put it on the ballot. Citizens are suing the Board of Election to put the Ordinance on the
November ballot.

I am writing to you regarding DEP Permit no. 39-00099A, which
concerns the air emissions from Delta Thermo Energy's (DTE's)
proposed trash and sewage sludge incinerator in Allentown, PA.

This proposal has sparked considerable local controversy about air
quality impacts.  I want to bring my concerns about this proposed
facility to the DEP, at a public hearing in Allentown, accessible via
an evening bus route.
