Lehigh / CDUEL Rounds‏

Just a reminder that our first Rounds will be next Saturday September 21. We'll be in room E104 of Iacocca Hall on the Mountaintop Campus at Lehigh. Breakfast is from 9-9:30 and our Socratic Seminar/Gathering for Growth is from 9:30-noon. We'll have a provocative article, question, issue to discuss during the first half and we'll use a Collaborative Assessment Protocol to discuss a piece of student work in depth during the second half. If you want to bring in a piece of student work please let me know. Bring colleagues, administrators, board members, policy makers, etc. Everyone interested in education is always welcome at Rounds. Just bring your perspective and a willingness to share. Looking forward to seeing you there.

"The curriculum of a school shapes children's thinking. It is a mind-altering device; it symbolizes what adults think is important for the young to know, what is important to be good at...It gives or denies children the opportunities to learn how to think in certain ways." Elliot Eisner
"Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig." Robert Heinlein
"If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern."
